Home Health Aide Training

 

The total cost of this fast-paced 4-week full-time 80-hour course is $1,500.00, which includes the following items:

  1. Course Tuition 
  2. A Pair of Uniforms 
  3. American Heart Association CPR/First Aid/AED Training and Certification
  4. CMS 8 hours of Dementia/Alzheimer's training and Certification
  5. Textbooks (Including workbooks) 
  6. Technology Fee
  7. Graduation and Cap/Gown Fee

Nursing Assistant Program

 

The total cost of the CNA Certificate Training program is $1,960.00, which includes

  • The Program Tuition
  • Textbooks (includes workbook)
    A pair of Official School uniform sets
  • American Heart Association CPR/AED Training and certification
  • CMS 8-hour Dementia/Alzheimer's Training and Certification
  • Graduation fee and Graduation Cap/Gown
  • Technology Fee

Training Expectations

All applicants must meet and complete the following basic admission requirements and provide all required documents to be considered for admission to STARGA. 

How to Apply


  • 1. Complete the Application
  • 2. Schedule an interview with the Admissions Director to determine your eligibility (Zoom meeting).
  • 3. Take and pass the entrance test in basic English and math.
  • 4. Make a deposit to secure your spot in the program.
  • 5. Upload the required enrollment documents.
  • 6. Complete and sign the Enrollment Agreement and Student Handbook via your student portal.
  • 7. Receive an acceptance letter from STARGA confirming your enrollment in the program.
  • 8. Plan to begin your classes according to the assigned schedule.

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, or Current High School Transcript, or College Transcript
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Previous Employment Information
  • Your COVID-19 Vax Card (Optional)
  • Identification ID (Driver's license or Passport, Work Authorization, etc.)
  •  Enrollment Agreement – Review and sign
  • Review and sign the student handbook

Program Length & Goals

 

  • Complete an Online School Application Form
  • Prospective students must be 16 years or older
  • High School Diploma, its equivalent, or a current high school transcript or  college transcript
  • Complete the Basic English and Math proficiency test with a score of 80%
  • Valid Photo ID (Driver’s License / State ID/ Passport / Permanent Resident Card)

Program Length & Goals

 

Our CNA training program is designed to be both thorough and efficient, allowing students to enter the healthcare workforce quickly and confidently.

  • Total Length: 6 weeks
  • Format: Hybrid (classroom instruction, skills lab, and clinical experience)
  • Hours: 
    • Classroom & Skills Training: Approx. 75–80 hours
    • Supervised Clinical Practice: Approx. 40 hours  college transcript


By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Deliver safe and compassionate basic nursing care
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Accurately measure and record vital signs
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethics, and patient-centered care
  • Successfully pass the state CNA certification exam

Graduates are prepared to work in:

  • Hospitals
  • Nursing homes and long-term care facilities
  • Rehabilitation centers
  • Assisted living communities


The HHA program is shorter and focused, ideal for individuals interested in providing care in clients’ homes.

  • Total Length: 4 weeks
  • Format: Classroom instruction with hands-on skills practice
  • Hours: Approx. 75 hours

This program meets state guidelines for Home Health Aide training and emphasizes practical, real-world caregiving skills


By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Provide basic health-related support under supervision
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment
  • Support clients with mobility, nutrition, and daily routines
  • Observe and report changes in client condition
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, and supervisors
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity in care delivery

Graduates are prepared to work in:

  • Home care agencies
  • Private home care settings
  • Community-based care programs


HHA/CNA Program Requirements

 

 

  1. CPR / BLS/AED Certification 
  2. Confirmed Criminal Background clearance
  3. Royal Health Care Institute Physical Examination Form be completed by MD/NP – prior to Clinical training
    ¾ Verification of the Immunization: (required prior to Clinical Training at a nursing Home.)

  • PPD Skin Test (TB) (have one done each year), Chest X-Ray if PPD is positive
  • Chest X-Ray if known to be PPD positive in the past
  • Hep-B
  • One MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Tetanus vaccine that is less than 10 years old
  • Confirmation of varicella (chickenpox) immunity

The following is a list of health requirements for the STARGA Nursing Assistant Program:


– Students with any acute condition, including pregnancy, or chronic medical problem must inform the instructor concerning their current health status, medications, and medical needs.
– A written statement from the student’s physician must state that the student has “NO restrictions in the following activities for theory, lab or clinical: moving, lifting and transferring a resident/patient”


Each student is urged to carry a personal health insurance policy. The student is responsible for their individual medical expenses, whether due to an injury during theory/lab or clinical or an illness requiring treatment, testing, or procedure. The student is responsible for any medical costs required by STARGA and/or the health care facility to attend their clinical. Failure to abide by the health requirements will result in dismissal from the program.

Tuition and Fees Policy

 

 

 

STARGA will accept full payment upon enrollment, or the candidate can set up payment.

  1. Payment can be cash, a certified bank check, a personal check, or a *credit card.
    A 3% fee will be applied to all Credit Card transactions

Required Supplies:

  • Textbook: Nursing Assisting: A Foundation in Caregiving, Sixth edition, by Diana Dugan
  • Workbook: Nursing Assisting: A Foundation in Caregiving, fifth edition, by Diana Dugan
  • Blood pressure cuff and stethoscope
  • Pen and paper; small pad of paper for clinical
  • Watch with a second hand
  • Transfer/gait belt (provided by the instructor)
  • RHCI Uniform, comfortable shoes, name pin (Royal Health Care Institute picture ID)
  • Blood pressure cuff

Program Duration and Measurement

 

 

  1. The program is measured in class hours. Students must complete the required hours for each program: a minimum of 88 hours of Didactic and an additional 32 hours of Practicum Clinical Rotation for the CNA Program (not including tests).


Graduation Requirements for CNA Program:
To meet the graduation requirements, students must have the following:

  1. Completed 88 hours of Theory Training and 32 hours of Clinical Training at a minimum
  2. A grade of “C” or better in all theory modules
  3. Passing clinical evaluations demonstrating that they have completed all clinical objectives
  4. Tuition and fees paid.
